Google seems to be ahead of everyone with regard to video streaming, is it the future?

I am not trying to insult Yahoo but when I plug into a Google video stream on DSL they seem to offer more than trailers. The problem may be in marketing competition. I was thinking that once the market takes hold and the video quality improves with the latest technologies Google, Yahoo, AOL and the others could offer discount rates on documentaries and entertainment video. If I am correct I have to purchase the video's now, I was thinking more on the line of cable TV on broadband. Perhaps you could enlighten me.
You're probably correct, but don't forget about Verizon and some other companies that are offering video on cell phones now too. Google is doing the best in the online video business because YouTube was so hot and they got it first. Also, they are an 800 lb gorilla and are tough to mess with. I love Yahoo, more than Google, but Google is the better company for now. It probably will stay that way for a long time too.
