What are the most popular keyword searches made by people in my home town?

I'd like to create a website providing info of interest to people in my home town. It would be nice to know what keywords they use when they are searching the Internet. I tried Yahoo Search Marketing and Google Adwords and they got me a little bit of info but not enough to really make an informed decision about what people around here want to find online. Are there other online resources that can help me find this info? Do I need to stop people on the street and ask them? Please point me in a direction that might help me do some of this basic market research.

Google seems to be ahead of everyone with regard to video streaming, is it the future?

I am not trying to insult Yahoo but when I plug into a Google video stream on DSL they seem to offer more than trailers. The problem may be in marketing competition. I was thinking that once the market takes hold and the video quality improves with the latest technologies Google, Yahoo, AOL and the others could offer discount rates on documentaries and entertainment video. If I am correct I have to purchase the video's now, I was thinking more on the line of cable TV on broadband. Perhaps you could enlighten me.

Where can I find a list or database of generic keywords that are used for search and PPC?

For research, we need an updated list of keywords used by people for search and for online marketing (and pay-per-click). I'm sure this list is big, so it's probably a database; and if possible, it should also include additional information, like ranking or popularity. Thanks!

I keep reading that Dave Pasternack hates SEO, or search engine optimization. My company is looking to hire someone for this type of work but on a news article he states that it is useless and any one can do it. That I should just sign up an account with something called Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing. Everytime I search around to see who Dave Pasternack is I keep coming across sites that talk about cakes and chefs.

I belong to a online community at www.videosift.com, which users post the best videos from major video hosting sites such as Google Video and Youtube.com.

Its a small community but we are looking to extend our reach via online marketing, and i was wondering what is the best way of getting a site known on the web.

Ok i have a project for marketing and im kind of computer retarded lol. Uhh, have to find an example of an instant replay… thats easy just find a sports vid. But im not sure how you would record the video from the computer to a VHS tape or a CD. So my question is how can you record a vid from the computer to a VHS cassette/a CD (need answers to both please).

New Internet Explorer?

We downloaded a new version of Internet Explorer at work and now, on certain web pages, links work but buttons do not and I can't read my Yahoo email (which isn't super important, but my boss read this article about marketing using things like MySpace and Yahoo groups, so it would be cool if I could get those to work at work). Any ideas? I lowered my security settings to medium, but that didn't seem to fix it.
