How do I find keywords that people use in organic search that lead them to come to my web site (not paid placement such as ppc, but organic search)? especially from Google and Yahoo?
I read about 'research referrals' in Search Marketing Inc by Mike Moran but it doesn't talk about how to find research referrals.

Is there a site that will check out your e-mail templates to make sure it doesn’t get marked as spam?

I work for a University that sends e-mails to prospective students. Sometimes there can be over 100 e-mails sent at one time. I am designing a new template to be used for these e-mails. How can I make sure that these e-mails do not get marked as spam? I can't have our company gray listed as spammers. Is there a website where I can upload my HTML e-mails and it will tell me if hotmail, yahoo, aol, etc… will flag it as spam. I have done some research on keywords, phrases, links, etc.. that e-mail filters will look for. Anyone know of such a site? Just a little background info, the templates have linked images from the school's websites so they are not very large e-mails. Any help would be appreciated.

Keyword research…where? How?
Now that overture has turned off the Keyword Research Tool where does one now go for recursive keyword research? (as one could do with the tool).
Are there third-party solutions that will give you the words and cost estimates for Yahoo, MSN, and Google?
What are the most popular keyword searches made by people in my home town?

I'd like to create a website providing info of interest to people in my home town. It would be nice to know what keywords they use when they are searching the Internet. I tried Yahoo Search Marketing and Google Adwords and they got me a little bit of info but not enough to really make an informed decision about what people around here want to find online. Are there other online resources that can help me find this info? Do I need to stop people on the street and ask them? Please point me in a direction that might help me do some of this basic market research.
Google seems to be ahead of everyone with regard to video streaming, is it the future?

I am not trying to insult Yahoo but when I plug into a Google video stream on DSL they seem to offer more than trailers. The problem may be in marketing competition. I was thinking that once the market takes hold and the video quality improves with the latest technologies Google, Yahoo, AOL and the others could offer discount rates on documentaries and entertainment video. If I am correct I have to purchase the video's now, I was thinking more on the line of cable TV on broadband. Perhaps you could enlighten me.
Overture gives keyword traffic data for Yahoo. Does anyone know of a free tool for Google that does the same?

The facts are in from unbiased, 3rd party research groups and the majority of searches on the web are done via Google. I have had great success with search engine traffic due to free information from Overture's Keyword Search Tool. Of course there are many searches done on Google that are also done on Yahoo. For instance: If "widget" had 1,738 searches through Yahoo; Google on the other hand might have had 8,867 searches for "widget". In this case, "widget" goes from being of medium importance to maybe being the central focus of SEO for my site.
All internet entrepreneurs, like my self, that practice effective SEO, could really, seriously use a tool like Overture for Google. If anyone knows of a free tool like this PLEASE let me know.
The problem I have with alot of the software out there is that it simply pulls keywords from related site's meta tags. I mean c'mon I can do that myself!
Is Yahoo Search Marketing’s keyword lookup database at inventory.overture.com down for good?

I haven't been able to access it for ages… is it finally gone?
If so, what other free kwd research lookup would you suggest apart from Google's.
(one that does not draw from Yahoo of course)

I am creating a website based business and want to do some research on which keywords get the most clicks and how much I will be paying per click for the sponsored ads for google and yahoo. Is there a website where I can type in a keyword and it tells me how many people type in the keyword for google and/or yahoo? If so, please let me know the link to the site. Thanks!!
